ISU Audio & Arduino Clubs
Projects - Miscellaneous Items
Below are a few miscellaneous items for use with projects. Most of the items are for providing power — either wall plug or battery — or making connections and are applicable to multiple projects. The Club keeps a small stock of these items, except for 9-V batteries. Request them from G. Tuttle in person at a meeting or via email.
- 12-VRMS wall plug transformer. (1.5 A) Provides power for audio projects (GTDT amp and 3122 Class-D amp) and the DC supply. $10.
- 18-V wall-plug DC supply. (1 A) Alternative to the 12 V transformer above. $10.
- 9-V wall-plug DC supply. (1 A) Power for Arduino projects. $10.
- 9-V battery to 2.1-mm barrel jack. For connecting a 9-V battery to an Arduino or a project board. $3
- 1-m long audio cable with 3.5-mm TRS male connectors. Used for the low-power audio connections in many of our audio projects. There are many companies and places to buy audio cables, but these are good quality and have been reliable. $8.
- Many of the projects can be powered with 9-V batteries — you might want to keep a couple on hand. If you think you will be using batteries a lot, some rechargeables would be a good option. They are bit expensive starting out, but they will last "forever" (i.e. untIl you lose them). There are many options for 9-V rechargeables, but some Li-ion batteries like these might be a good bet. (Not stocked by the Club.)
